TREE COFFINS

This concept is different from most you’ll probably read. An Italian company created an eco-friendly alternative to coffins. It is called ‘The Capsula’ developed by Anna Citelli and Raoul Bretzel. This project is an organic, biodegradable burial capsule that will turn the deceased’s body intro nutrients for a tree that will grow out of the body’s remains. It can sound a bit disturbing but this concept has quite some future growth potential.

Each person choosing this way to being buried can choose their favourite tree. The body will be placed inside an egg in a fetal position, a seed is planted above the body and planted into the ground. It looks like a massive seed with a body inside, kind off like the new circle of life. It is like where life began. This concept will change the standard creepy cemeteries into sacred forests where you can remember your loved one peacefully.

This concept covers different social issues and trends that are important in todays world. Such as sustainability, rising social tensions and personalization.

Mother Nature Designs

Hello,

I visited Paris two weeks ago and I went to the Hermes Concept Store on the Rue de Sevres. A very interesting store and concept, the store’s interior is absolutely beautiful. There are so many details in this Hermes store. I didn’t know where to look. There were several details in the interior that caught my eye. I’m still very impressed with this store, even though all the clothes and things were too expensive for my bank account.

The wooden details everywhere is the first thing that caught my eye, several furniture and details made of wood in all shapes and sizes. Especially the two huge raindrop shaped open spaces inside the Hermes concept store, made of wood. Organic shapes, it had to do something with Mother Nature.

This made me think of a fashion show at the London Fashion Week last week. Unfortunately I wasn’t there, but some day I will! The young fashion designer Hakaan Yildirim designed a collection based on bumblebees, another beautiful phenomenon of Mother Nature. All the clothes, most of them were dresses, had something to do with bumblebees or their home. The environment and Mother Nature are also important to fashion designers.

The Hermes concept store and the Spring/ Summer 2015 collection designed by Hakaan Yildirim do have something in comment, nature and organic shapes and sizes.

A signal worth keeping your eyes on.

SLA

Hi there,

I read an article about SLA recently. Settled in our beautiful capital, Amsterdam. It immediately caught my eye and I was very curious about the concept.

What is it?
SLA is a restaurant in Amsterdam. They serve salades, different kind of fresh juices, soup and healthy snacks. The products are biological and sustainable. The products and ingredients they use for their recipes are region products, the wines and beers for example. Their mission is to use pure and tasty ingredients to make exciting courts.

Choose your SLA!

Choose your SLA!

Why is it cool?
It’s cool because they use pure and biological products. Even the meat and poultry are biological.

Moreover, you can compose your own salade as well. You can eat your yummy salade in the restaurant, or you can take it home with you.

SLA is not only a restaurant, but they give workshops as well.

Why does it have future growth potential?
Sla has definitely future growth potential because the society these days wants healthy and organic food. SLA gives you that.

They also have an transparent kitchen, so when they are making your salade, you can watch them make it yourself through the window. The origin of the products are mentioned above the courts. The brewery where the beer comes from for example. The guests know where the products come from, how they’re made and what they eat. Just what we need!

The link to their website and Facebook are linked down below.
I’m planning to visit SLA very soon, I’ll let you know about my thoughts!
